Prof. Ramadhansyah Putra Jaya

Ramadhansyah Putra Jaya earned his bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Syiah Kuala University in Banda Aceh, Indonesia. In 2008, he advanced his studies at the University of Science Malaysia, where he completed his Master’s degree, followed by a PhD in Civil Engineering in 2011. His research interests encompass Highway Engineering, Concrete Technology, Advanced Materials, and Nanotechnology. He has taught and tutored courses such as highway engineering, advanced road materials, civil engineering

materials, research methodology, and engineering laboratory (highway, traffic, and geotechnical). He is also a registered member and a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers Indonesia, the American Society of Civil Engineers (USA), the Institution of Civil Engineers (UK), the International Association of Engineers (Hong Kong), the World Association for Scientific Research and Technical Innovation (India), and the Institute of Highway Engineers (UK). Additionally, he serves as a visiting research fellow at the Center of Excellence Geopolymer & Green Technology (CEGeoGTech) at the University of Malaysia Perlis, the Institute for Infrastructure Engineering and Sustainable Management (IIESM) at Universiti Teknologi MARA, and the Centre of Tropical Geoengineering (GEOTROPIK) at the University of Teknologi Malaysia. He is also a visiting professor at Prince of Songkla University in Thailand.  

He has received numerous awards both locally and internationally for his research work. In2008, he was honored with the REAM Best Engineering Student Thesis Award for his research on highway engineering materials. He received the Excellent Service Award and the Research Excellence Award from the University of Technology Malaysia and University of Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah. Additionally, he was honored with the Cendikia Bitara Award for high-impact journal and book publications by the University of Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah.

His innovations, including High Early Strength Pervious Concrete, Waste Cooking Oil as Bio Binder, and Waste Plastic in Asphalt as Green Road, also earned him several accolades. Additionally, he received the Global Top Reviewers in Materials Science Award from Web of Science, United States. One of his most prestigious recognitions came in 2020 when he was awarded the Howard Medal by the Institution of Civil Engineers, United Kingdom, for his publication on nanomaterials. From 2022 to the present, he has been recognized among the World’s Top 2% Scientists by Stanford University and Elsevier B.V.

He has published more than 500 articles/proceedings/book and chapters including 365 articles indexed in Scopus with h-index is 32 and 300 articles indexed by Web of Science with H-index is 27. He has been actively involved in research with 2.5 million (Ringgit Malaysia) worth of grants as the leader and the team member with 5 authorized invention patents. He had supervised 20 PhD students as main and co-supervisor, 20 Master’s student (research and taught course) and more than 50 undergraduate students. Currently, he is an Academic Editor for Journal Advances in Civil Engineering, Advances in Materials Science and Engineering, Journal of Engineering, Buildings, Sustainability and

Frontiers in Materials. He also executive Editorial Board for the Open Civil Engineering Journal and Guest Editor for several Special Issues in high-impact journals, namely Buildings, Sustainability, Frontiers in Built Environment, Nanomaterials and Nanotechnology, Physics and Chemistry of the Earth Parts A/B/C, Composites and Advanced Materials, Discover Applied Sciences, and Journal of Traffic and Transportation Engineering (English Edition). Lastly, not to forget about many of his contributions as reviewer in high impact journal, grant, organizing international/regional conferences and keynote speakers.
