Prof. Dr. M. Shabri, S.E., M.Ec is a Professor of Islamic Economics at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Syiah Kuala, Indonesia. His expertise lies in financial economics, applied econometrics, Islamic economics, banking, and finance. He has published more than 100 articles in reputable international peer-reviewed journals, including International Journal of Emerging Markets, Global Economic Review, Journal of Asia-Pacific Business, Studies in Economics and Finance, International Journal of Managerial Finance, Journal of Economic Cooperation and Development, Review of Islamic Economics, and JKAU: Islamic Economics.

Prof. Shabri currently serves as the Coordinator of the Master of Economics Program at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Syiah Kuala. In 2025, in conjunction with the 64th Anniversary of Universitas Syiah Kuala, he was honored as the First Place Outstanding Lecturer in recognition of his outstanding achievements in teaching, research, and academic service.

He received his Bachelor of Economics (S.E.) from Universitas Syiah Kuala in 1995 before pursuing his Master of Economics (M.Ec.) and Ph.D. in Financial Economics at the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), which he completed in 1998 and 2005, respectively.

With extensive experience in teaching, research, and academic leadership, Prof. Shabri has made substantial contributions to the development of Islamic economics and finance in Indonesia and beyond. His scholarly work emphasizes evidence-based economic policy, financial inclusion, and sustainable economic development, supporting the advancement of resilient, green, and inclusive societies.
